Getting paid faster: invoices, online payments, and automatic bank payouts

Sending an invoice is only half the battle. Getting paid — and getting paid quickly — is what keeps your business running. ProposAI combines professional invoices with built-in online payment processing so your clients can pay you in seconds.

Creating an invoice Start by heading to the Invoices page and clicking "New invoice." You'll fill in:

- Client name and contact information - Invoice number (auto-generated, but editable) - Line items with descriptions, quantities, and rates - Currency — choose NGN (₦), USD ($), EUR (€), or GBP (£) - Payment due date - Optional notes or terms

The invoice is generated instantly. You can save it as a draft or send it right away.

Online payments with Paystack and Flutterwave Every invoice you send includes a secure payment link. Your client clicks the link and pays with their preferred method:

- Paystack: Cards (Visa, Mastercard), bank transfers, USSD, and mobile money — perfect for NGN transactions. - Flutterwave: Cards, bank transfers, and mobile wallets in USD, EUR, and GBP — ideal for international clients.

The payment is processed securely, and both you and your client receive a confirmation.

Getting paid: how payouts work When a client pays an invoice, the funds flow through ProposAI's payment processing system. Here's what happens:

1. The client pays via the invoice link. 2. ProposAI holds the payment briefly while processing. 3. The platform fee (10%) is deducted automatically. 4. The remaining 90% is sent to your connected bank account.

Setting up your bank account for payouts To receive payouts, connect your bank account from the dashboard:

1. Click "Connect bank" on the payout card in your dashboard (Pro plan or higher). 2. Enter your business name. 3. Select your bank from the list — ProposAI supports all major Nigerian banks. 4. Enter your 10-digit account number. 5. Review the account details and confirm.

Once connected, all invoice payments will be automatically split and deposited into your bank account.

Tracking invoice status From the Invoices page, you can see the status of every invoice at a glance:

- Draft — Not yet sent - Sent — Waiting for the client to pay - Paid — Payment received and processing

When an invoice is paid, you'll see the confirmation instantly. ProposAI also sends you email notifications so you never miss a payment.

Tips for getting paid faster 1. Send invoices immediately after completing a milestone — not at the end of the month. 2. Include a clear payment due date and terms. 3. Use the payment link to reduce friction — clients can pay with one click. 4. Follow up on overdue invoices with a friendly reminder. 5. Offer early payment to encourage prompt payment (you can add a discount line item).
